It looked as if the clouds would play ball with the sunset and enable me capture the image I have in my head. It looked promising to start with, however as the sun sank, so the bank of cloud on the horizon expanded and thickened. I did manage a reasonable shot along the river, so was happy!

We had clouds - real clouds today and I wanted to see what I could capture from the beach. Happy with results I achieved. I also had a good bit of news. The website I've joined to display (and maybe sell) my work has informed me that they liked one of my photos enough to give it a special Picfair star indicating it's "amongst the very best images uploaded to the site"! Maybe just a bit of PR, however I'm chuffed!

Still trying to capture an image of the sunset at the port which I have in my mind. All the elements were there this evening, however not in the way I'd hoped. In fact, the best image was of te reverse sunset and looking in totally the opposite direction from where I anticipated colours!

I'm all sunsetted out right now! My thoughts are on my forthcoming trip to Norway. Although I went out with the intention of waiting for the sun to go down, I decided to take some photos in a nearby town as the shadows became longer, instead.

A trip to the beach after a gym session. An early start tomorrow means no evening or night shots today. I caught sight of a lovely little cloud from the beach. It looked for all the world as if something had just blown it there. I called it "Little Puff"!

And so to Oslo on the first leg of my journey to the Lofoten Islands in Norway. I shall create a separate blog eventually to include all the phoyos I'll take on this trip, however for now, I will also keep up with choosing a photo a day, which is already paying off as far as composition and creation is concerned.

An early morning start to catch my flight to Lofoten. I had to wait for my guide for a couple of hours, however once he arrived and we collected the other member of our group we were off. It was a truly magical journey of about 5 hours to reach our base for the week. Half way along we stopped off at a location to meet one of my FB photographic friends; this whole trip seems so surreal! We stopped to take photos along the way and there were so many favourites it was difficult to choose only one. I will write up a seperate account of the trip together with more photos when I get back.

Although we had a late night, we were up early to capture a magnificent sunrise. Then it was off to photosgraph on some local beaches as well as visit a local village for some "street" photography! The snow, which had been forecast for all day, finally arrived in mid afternoon and we suddenly found we were photographing in blizzard conditions! Quite a challenge, yet exhilarating!

A day full of experiences including my leg disappearing into a stream covered by snow! Water poured into my boots from above; I was protected from below and the sides! I climbed up a high snow covered hill alongside my two, much younger companions and squelched around for the rest of our time outside thanking the heating pad in my boot all the time.
Fantastic photo opportunities although they take some hard work to capture.

A long day out photographing and taking advantage of favourable conditions. My favourite was the last shot of the day as darkness closed in. However the rock pool and mountains required the most work to capture.

A colder day with snow flurries. We were out much of the day however, even photographing in the snow!

Last day for photography shoots. Early on there were snow falls adding to the significant falls during the night. We made a decision to go out around midday when the forecast was better and eventually conditions improved. It was on the way home however, that the cherry on the top of the cake appeared - the Aurora! Not dramatic as in Sweden last year, more delicate and brief.

On my way home! First leg entailed a 6 hour journey to the airport. Completely the opposite to the journey a week earlier, this time there were blizzards and strong winds with which to contend. The flight left on time and without problems. Once airborne it was possible to see the new blanket of snow covering the area.

I shall include an image over Spain for today's photo. Tomorrow I will look for images in an around the house given the lock-down situation we are in. It will be a chance for other photographic skills to improve - I hope!

Back home and a lockdown period of 2 weeks, however the feeling is that it is likely to much more than the number of days recently announced. I don't have any problem keeping myself occupied with photography as a hobby, however Chris and I wanted to do something together. We've come up with the idea of depicting film titles without words. It will hopefully enhance my editing skills as well as keep our brain cells active. This is today's first effort.

It's challenging thinking of and creating the images, that's for sure. However, there are too many smart people out there and we will have to try and be a bit more obscure!

Glorious sunrise this morning. Just after I captured this image I was able to take one which seemed to show the mountain top on fire.

Playing around with abstract photography today. This particular one is something I'd filed away to do for a while. Today was the day. Not as easy as I first thought, primarily because the forks weren't that rounded. happy with the first attempt though.

Trying to find something unusual with the subject of flowers. Not my forte at all and as there are only red/pink flowers in bloom in the garden at the moment, I am severaly limited for choice of subject! I used my macro lens to get up close and personal with this bud.

A challenge to depict levetation. I learnt a lot whilst putting together this image, not least that I tend to go for the complicated rather than simple idea! Ah well, if you don't strive, you'll never know where the limitations are!

I was fed up with looking at flower images and happened to see what someone had done with spoons. I decided to have a go, not really thinking it would work, yet it did! Chuffed to be able to cfreate a different flower from cutlery!

On one of my photography FB pages we were given 3 random photos and asked to create one image. I was happy to be able to play around with creating an underwater effect, even remembering how to create bubbles.
