A walk hike in the mountains with the walking group. It was a beautiful day, however when walking it's not always possible to suss out good compositions. I think I am learning about what to look for much quicker nowadays though, and was pleasantly surprised by the images I captured.

At the airport and walking around with my camera to see what images I could create. I like the one on the escalator walk best as it creates negative space and tells a story.

Another sunset! This time I wanted to incorporate a nearby lighthouse. There were people on the beach which gave added interest.

An early morning start whichj didn't prove fruitful as far as a sunrise was concerned. Heavy fog had closed in. Ah well, such is the life of a photographer! I did manage to get some shots incorporating the fog and the one I have chosen was the best.

The fog was still hanging around first thing so it was away from the coast and inland where we struck lucky with the sun! By the time we'd had a coffee and warmed ourselves the cloud had cleared on the coast. Life was back to normal!

Today we went into the local town and a visit to the castle tower to look at things on high. I've been to this place a few times now and the challenge is to find new views to photograph. I felt pleased with the view of the town looking towards the coast, through this structure carved out of metal.

A walk on the beach where the waves were pounding as the sun continued to shine. Exhilarating to listen to the sounds as waves spread over stoney areas and then recede as the next thumping great waves come in!

Up early to photoghraph the Snow Moon from the roof terrace, then it was off into the mountains for the usual Saturday hike. The air is still hazy and views in the mountains were spectacular, however not clear. I decided to process one of the mountain views in B&W to give it more "feel" and was pleased with the way it turned out.

I didn't have to look far for today's photo! The "boys" were cuddling up on the sofa next to me and looked so adorable. It was a photo I wanted to capture and although not as sharp as it could be, it shows the beauty of brotherly love!

A trip into the forest specifically so I could try out some zooming techniques with my camera. It was a bit of a challenge negotiating the area which was filled with prickly plants at leg level, however I was able to achieve that which I'd set out to do.

A trip out with a friend to explore an area I thought might be a place for sunrise/sunsets. We have had many adventures together and this one turned out to be another one! Eventually we found the place I'd located on a map earlier and we weren't disappointed.

A return to the location of yesterday with the intention of capturing a sunset. It looked hopeful to start with as the cloud seemed thin enough for colours to emanate. However, as the sun sank into a bank of darker cloud near to the horizon, it became clear that there'd be no spectacular on this day! It's a good location though and may prove of use in the weeks to come before the sun rises and sinks behind land masses.

A spot of long exposures in the hope that clouds wlould come out to play at sunset too. It wasn't to be and I wasn't all that happy with the results of the LE as the sea was very rough and I didn't manage to get the silkiness normal with LE.

And yet another sunset! Practise makes perfect so they say and although this time the sunset wasn't a spectacular, there were some lovely colours thrown out as the sun went down.

Messing around capturing water splashes! It was fun and also prompted me to think about getting somewhere to keep my camera and equipment set ups so that I don't have to keep dismantling them each time after use.

I decided to get involved with a competition for repetitions. I chose to photograph a structurfe which had horizontal, vertical and slatted repetitions, however I don't think for one minute it will win any prizes. It was fun wandering around looking for possibilities and after a while, repetitions were everywhere!

It was time for some night photography as mist was still hanging around and no sunset/sunrise photos were possible. I enjoyed playing around with my camerfa settings, trying to get all the lights around the bay and in the port as pin sharp as possible.

Walk in the mountains. A bit boring this week as it was all on the flat and not much spectacular scenery around. Good exercise though.

A challenge to make something out of nothing! With a blank sheet and a photo editing programme the challenge was to produce a 2D landscape. I found it quite a challenge to start with, however, once I'd sussed the work flow, I was on a roll. It's highly addictive too and I had to stop and get out at one point otherwise I'd have been doing it all day long!

Walk day! Thankfully the reasons for an "easy" walk the week before weren't present this week and it was a lovely walk in an area I'd not been before. We walked up hills and alongside a reservoir and it was frightening to see just how low the level was. It's now possible to walk in areas which only a few years ago were under water.
